| Traffic Growth If no changes are made to US 30 within the study area, current congestion is expected to be dramatically worse in the future. Traffic growth rates were determined for specific roadway segments within the study area, which ranged from 1.1% to 2.5% per year. To project future Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT) volumes listed below, an average annual growth rate of 1.7% was used for the corridor. ![]() These future traffic volumes are 70% larger on average than 1999 traffic volumes. In the year 2030, three of the signalized intersections are expected to operate at Level of Service (LOS) F. The eastbound approach of US 30 and PA 41 would experience a delay exceeding five minutes, an increase of more than four minutes from the 1999 delay. The intersection of US 30 and PA 896 would operate at LOS E. Both of the highway segments analyzed would operate at LOS E. For more information on LOS analyses, click here. The Intersection Delay chart below compares the projected increase in delay at four intersections in the study area between 1999 and 2030. ![]() |
